Sweet Deal: Pearson Candy Co. buys Bit-O-Honey PDF Print E-mail

Pearson Candy Co. has bought Bit-O-Honey from Nestle USA Inc. and will produce the 90-year-old confectionery brand at its St. Paul factory.

The deal was announced Wednesday by Brynwood Partners VI L.P., the Greenwich, Conn.-based private-equity firm that bought Pearson Candy in 2011. Terms of the agreement were not announced.

You have to scroll pretty far down the list of Portland's highest-paying occupations to find a job outside of health care.

Nine of the top 10 jobs are in health care, with surgeons ($250,160), psychiatrists ($243,720) and obstetricians and gynecologists ($241,370) coming in Nos. 1, 2 and 3. Chief executives prevented a top-10 health care sweep, ranking No. 6 with an average salary of $213,700.
